RESIDENTIAL CAMPS

Whether they be day trips which support curriculum objectives or overnight camps, visits and residentials Jebel Ali School students are offered the opportunity to apply what they have learnt in the classroom to the world outside.

As well as the field trips that form part of some GCSE and A-Level subject courses, we encourage all our students from Years 4 – 10 to take part in locally based residential camps.

Student groups also routinely visit theatres, museums, and galleries, and represent the school at regional and national competitions. Among the popular trip venues are Dubai Opera, Choirfest, the Louvre, the coastline, Dubai Art Week, and Dubai Design Week.

TRIPs ABROAD

Opportunities for students to travel abroad have included ski trips in Europe and Community Development Expeditions in Africa and Asia, as well as specific GCSE and A-Level topic enhancement visits to New York and Japan.

Another popular source of trips is the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) International Award scheme for which we offer the chance to gain a Bronze award in Year 10, Silver Award in Year 11, and a Gold Award in Year 12. As part of the awards, students are expected to regularly take part in a physical activity, complete a voluntary service, and learn a new skill. Students will undertake adventurous journeys of different lengths depending on their award. Gold award students must complete a 4-day adventurous journey and a 5-day residential project.
JAS Events

EVENTS

Our popular events program encourages student engagement and participation. It reaches out to those students who want to seize the chance to express themselves somewhere other than in the classroom.

Drama productions, music concerts and soirees, theatre workshops, art festivals…they all encourage freedom of expression and help students build relationships, understand different perspectives and experience other cultures.

EVENTS

ACTIVITIES & SOCIETIES

Though our curriculum underpins everything we do, our busy program of extra-curricular activities and societies underlines the value we place on time and effort spent outside of the classroom.

In our Sixth Form aspiring medics, engineers and aviation professionals, to name a few, are able to join societies to gain insight and knowledge into chosen career pathways.

Our diverse and inclusive range of activities and societies not only allows students to develop their knowledge, experience, and understanding in a specific activity, but it provides opportunities which include participation in:

  • The Duke of Edinburgh · International Award scheme
  • Student ‘Model United Nations’
  • Scholars Cup
