As we strive to both develop and enhance the physical resources, and complement the excellent academic PE team at Jebel Ali School, we are delighted to be able to share that Mr. James Bedford will join us in August 2024 as our Director of Sport.
Mr. Bedford has many years of experience of exceptional leadership in a Dubai, and international sporting context, and will continue the fantastic work of Ms Amie Channon as we champion sports, fitness, and wellbeing at Jebel Ali School.
During his extensive 13-year tenure in the UAE, James has established himself as a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Sports. Leading a substantial team of educators and coaches, he directs the implementation of an inclusive sports program tailored for students aged 3 to 13. Since his arrival in 2011, James has played a pivotal role in advancing competitive sports in Dubai, contributing actively to key positions at DASSA and the Dubai School Games. Currently serving as both Director of Sport and Head of PE, James is committed to providing students with memorable sporting experiences, placing equal emphasis on the development of personal and athletic skills. Acknowledging the importance of community-building in youth sports, he values the indispensable role parents play in strengthening a school sports program. James adheres to the mantra ‘Better Players, Better People,’ and you can delve deeper into his philosophy by tuning in to his podcast of the same name.
