We hope the following information helps you to settle into our school and gives you an insight into the support you and your family will receive. We are a community school and our aim is to make all newcomers to the Jebel Ali School community feel like part of the family as quickly as possible.
On your first day at Jebel Ali School, we ask that you come to school a little bit earlier and arrive at the main KS2 office at 7.30 am or at KS1 at 7.45 am.
We will then take you to your new classroom and introduce you to your new teacher before the bell goes. Your teacher will have already prepared your tray and all your books for you to use in class.
Your teacher will have chosen a buddy for you who will help you to settle in during the week and will keep you company at break. If you are going to KS2, your buddy will take you on a tour of the school, showing you important places such as the ICT room, the swimming pool, the playground and the Nurse’s office.
At break time your buddy will look after you and help you to make friends.
At the end of the day, your parent will meet you outside your classroom. When the teacher sees your parent he/she will call your name and you will be able to go outside and meet them.
We hope that you enjoy your first day and look forward to getting to know you and your family.
Our Class Parent Representatives also play a key role in welcoming new families. Getting to know the mums and dads of your child’s classmates helps the transition for new parents. Please contact your class representative who facilitates a lot of the information flow between fellow parents.
Jebel Ali School has a very active PTA which organises regular events to provide families with an opportunity to mix informally, have fun and support school fundraising and other worthwhile causes. These events are a great way to get to know, and become part of, our community.
Our administrative team are always here to help and can usually answer your queries or point you in the right direction. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
