I offer you a very warm welcome to Jebel Ali School. This is an exciting time for this ‘old’ Dubai school. Having originally thrived for over 40 years as ‘JAPS’ (Jebel Ali Primary School) we have now settled into our new state of the art campus at Damac Hills. This new site includes a Secondary School and Primary School as well as a Foundation Unit. The impressive Secondary building houses Science Labs, Design Workshops, Food Technology area, Music Rooms, a Drama Studio, Auditorium, Lecture Theatre, superb sports facilities (all weather pitches, swimming pool, two Sports Halls and gym) a Sixth Form Centre, 21stst century learning areas and coffee shop. More important than the buildings however, is the Jebel Ali School community; a building is only as good as the people who breathe life into it! Wellbeing is at the centre of all that we do and our philosophy is happy students and happy staff lead to a successful school. We focus on care of students, always putting them first, and we thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and challenge.
We offer a combination of subjects at Key Stage 3 that allow our students to develop a broad and balanced range of skills as well as knowledge. The teaching team combines professional experience (average years teaching: 15) with innovative learning practices as well as a commitment to the care of all. The students are therefore academically challenged and supported in equal measure.
The extra curricular programme is as important as the core curriculum in the development of social and leadership skills as well as confidence. Our programme includes academic extension (such as STEM Club) along with life skills (such as French Cooking Club) as well as creative (Drama and Music) and extensive sporting opportunities.
While we recognize the value and importance of academic success we also want our students to leave Jebel Ali School as self-confident, global citizens. We know examination results matter but we also place great importance on character and values in the development of well rounded young adults, preparing them to thrive, lead and inspire in the 21st century. Through academic and pastoral experiences we aim to develop curiosity, compassion, kindness, awareness, honesty and integrity in each of our students. As such, our PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) programme permeates the curriculum in order to develop our young charges’ personal and moral dimensions.
This is a genuine community school where parents, staff and students collaborate to achieve success and create a vibrant and happy learning environment for all.
I look forward to welcoming your family into our community.
