Year 5 > Next Week...

Week Beginning 5th May 2013

This week is Assessment week in school.  Your child will be completing the following tests;

English – 2 x pieces of writing, 1 x spelling test (based on spelling rules covered, not testing a selection of the words the children have had), 1 x Reading Comprehension

Maths – 2 x mental maths tests, 1 x written non-calculator paper, 1 x written calculator paper

We will also be continuing with our work in other curriculum ares as follows;

Science – Investigating diet, the food pyramid and how to eat healthily.

ICT – Continuing work on Microsoft Excel – producing graphs and charts from data.

Art – Beginning to work on our lunar planetscapes

As it is assessment week, there will be no formal homework this week, other than spellings, which the children will have for 2 weeks, and normal reading.

There will be some disruption to the CMA schedule due to the timings of our assessments.  Inevitably, some children will not have a lesson next week, however we will try to accommodate as many as possible.  Unless advised otherwise, all CMA children should bring their instruments to school as normal.
