Stranger Awareness
Dear Parents
As you are aware we have been running our own ‘Stranger Danger Programme’ in school during our PSHE sessions. We, as a school, are committed to ensuring our children are equipped to keep themselves as safe as possible and we are delighted to invite Mr Wael Al-Sayegh, owner and director of Family Martial Arts UAE Leadership Academy to run his ‘Awareness/Anti-Abduction Programme’ with the staff, parents and children at our school.
Depending on the age group, students will be introduced to the following self-protection themes:
- Defining who a stranger is;
- What to do if a stranger tries to speak to them;
- What to do if a stranger approaches them;
- What to do if a stranger gets a hold of them;
- Pavement Protection: Dealing with strangers who are in vehicles;
- ‘Anti-Car Abduction Techniques’.
Dubai is a safe place but safety is the result of awareness, pre-planning and training. The aim of the programme is not to scare people but to help them create a better awareness of their environment in order to better protect themselves.
Parents are invited to hear Mr Wael Al-Sayegh speak about his programme on Wednesday 6 June 2012 at 1:00 pm in the ICT Suite at Key Stage Two.
Mr Wael Al-Sayegh will be in school to run his programme, for children, on the following dates:- Please click here to view the dates and confirm your attendance.
